# How to fix "Image generation failed"?

> Try the image request again after checking your credit balance and prompt. If you were editing an image, shorten the change request. If an image appears but cannot be saved, download it before closing the window.

## Why this happens

The app may show **Image generation failed** with "We could not generate images right now." It can also happen when your balance is too low. A change request may show **Changes are too long** or **Could not update image**.

## How to fix it

1. Check **Account balance** in the left navigation.
2. Make the prompt clear and short. If you used **Make changes**, ask for one change at a time.
3. Select **Generate** or **Submit** again.
4. If you still cannot continue, try one image at a time.

If the image is visible but says **Image could not be saved**, download it before you close the window.

## If it keeps happening

Open **Support** from your user menu. Say whether you were making a new image or editing one, and include the message shown.

## Common questions

### Will a failed image request use my credits?

No. A failed action releases its reserved credits.

### Can I keep an image that did not save to the Library?

Yes. Download it while it is still visible.
